Show Notes

Saturday, December 18th marks four years since the derailment of Amtrak 501 that killed three and injured dozens. But it's also the Second Annual State Blood Donor Day in Washington and Oregon. One of those behind the idea of setting aside a day to honor blood donation as well as first responders is Juan Cotto, the Senior Government Affiars and Community Engagement Specialist for Bloodworks Northwest. In this episode of Bloodworks 101, Juan explains the thinking behind the Day and why the concept of mainting an adequate blood supply is so important - before  an emergency happens.
